Young Gruyère is a semi-hard cow's milk cheese that originated in the town of Gruyère, Switzerland, and has been produced there since the 12th century. It's also made in the Alpine Comté and Savoie regions of eastern France, near La Gruyère.  Its mild nuttiness and sightly sweet flavor profile make it an irresistible snacking cheese as well as a staple in kitchens world-wide.
